2024 TE Wyatt Hook commits to Michigan State Spartans
San Jose (Calif.) Homestead three-star tight end Wyatt Hook has committed to Michigan State.
Hook, a former Oregon State pledge, is now set to head to East Lansing to join new MSU head coach Jonathan Smith, who left OSU to become the Spartans’ new skipper.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder is the No. 79 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 107 player in California and the No. 1411 recruit overall.

Spartans tight ends coach Brian Wozniak followed Smith from Corvallis to East Lansing. Following an official visit to MSU on Dec. 8, Wozniak and Smith have now added Hook’s pledge for the second time.
“The process has been pretty good,” Hook said of the coaches move to SpartanMag. “I have been talking to Coach Woz quite a bit. We have built a really good relationship. I committed to Oregon State a year ago today, so we have built a pretty good relationship.”
Smith, Spartans re-building 2024 class
Hook is the second recruit to pledge to Michigan State on Tuesday, as he followed McKinney (Texas) three-star running back Makhi Frazier, the No. 133 RB and No. 238 player in Texas in the cycle.

Following the addition of the pair, MSU’s class now has nine commits and ranks 74th in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Sparty is trending to bring multiple prospects from Oregon State to East Lansing and is also currently trending to flip Gaylord (Mich.) four-star linebacker Brady Pretzlaff from Minnesota.
River Rouge (Mich.) four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh headlines the class as the No. 162 overall prospect and No. 28 wideout in the cycle. Despite the coaching staff changes, Marsh never backed off his pledge to the in-state program and has since reaffirmed his commitment.
“Got some good news from the new head coach at Michigan State and was like, you know, I want to stick it out with these guys, because they’ve shown the most love, they’ve stayed the most consistent with their communication, why should I go choose another school that’s not doing the same,” Marsh said in an interview with This is Sparta MSU.
Other top commits for the Spartans include: Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Riverdale three-star cornerback Jaylen Thompson, Cincinnati Hills Christian three-star twin offensive linemen Mercer and Charlton Luniewski and Kingston (Pa.) Wyoming Seminary three-star safety Justin Denson Jr.
