Michigan State LB Darius Snow announces intention to withdraw from NCAA Transfer Portal
Michigan State linebacker Darius Snow announced his intention to withdraw his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on his Twitter page on Wednesday evening.
“To those who’ve asked,”
“All I’ve ever wanted to accomplish in college is getting a degree while playing at the highest level, and set myself up for the future; on and off the field. Over the past four years, I’ve experienced just about everything that you can in college football, but unfortunately I’ve had to watch more than I could do because of several factors, primarily injury.”
“Since September 2nd, 2022, I’ve encountered more hardships than I ever had in my life, and if I’m being honest, I struggled with how to deal with it. I lost relationships, some for the better–while some I wish I hadn’t, and lifelong goals for some time no longer felt achievable. Worst off, I could not play football for most of that time and wasn’t completely healthy when I could.”
“For reasons not worth bringing back up, I decided to enter the transfer portal when the season concluded and did so. This decision, however, was made before giving coach Smith and Co. the chance they deserve. As aforementioned, with everything I’ve went through in my time here, I wouldn’t be doing myself justice either leaving without doing so. That being said, after multiple conversations with my family and Coach Smith, I decided to withdraw my name from the Transfer Portal earlier today and take that chance.”
“I’m proud to say that I’ve now completely recovered from the injuries that have plagued my career to this point, and I look forward to building on the work that was put in to get to where I am today. I can’t speak to what the future holds, but I can guarantee that I will attack it head-first as I always have.”
“Lord Willing, James 1:2-6 Darius Snow.”
In 2022, Snow made two tackles in 29 snaps before suffering his season-ending injury. In 2021, Snow ranked third on the team with 87 tackles, he also racked up 5.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
