New Caney (Texas) three-star cornerback and Utah commit CJ Blocker received an offer from Michigan State on Wednesday. He announced the news over social media.

Blocker is the No. 526 overall prospect and No. 52 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 88 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-0, 165 pound prospect committed to the Utes on June 28. He is currently the fifth-highest-ranked prospect in Utah’s 2023 recruiting class. Each recruit ranked ahead of him is in the top 500 of the On3 Consensus.

Additionally, Utah’s 2023 class is No. 38 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 5 in the Pac-12. It contains 14 commitments.

Meanwhile, Michigan State has pledges from three cornerbacks in its 2023 recruiting class. They are Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star Chance Rucker, McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy three-star Colton Hood and Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day three-star Eddie Pleasant. Additionally, Blocker’s high school teammate — four-star running back Kedrick Reescano — has been committed to the Spartans since Jan. 17.

Blocker has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
