Michigan State picks up transfer commitment from former Washington State offensive lineman
Former Washington State center Brian Greene has announced his transfer commitment to Michigan State. Greene tweeted his announcement on Monday afternoon.
Greene comes to Michigan State with one final season of eligibility. He began his career at Washington State in 2017 as a preferred walk-on, and ended up taking a redshirt season. In 2018, he played in Washington State’s final five games, spending time both at center and on special teams. He was put on scholarship after the season.
During the 2019 season, Greene played in 13 games, mostly on special teams. He also played a big role on special teams on field goal and point after attempts. During the 2020 season, Greene was named as an All-Pac-12 Conference honorable mention. He played in each of Washington State’s four games during the COVID-19 shortened season.
This past season, Greene was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List as the top center in college football.
Greene on his decision to leave Washington State
Greene spent a lot of time at Washington State, but ultimately decided to enter the transfer portal to find somewhere else to play his final collegiate season.
