Michigan State trending for in-state LB Charles White
“I definitely felt wanted.”
That’s what West Bloomfield (Mich.) Orchard Lake St. Mary’s three-star linebacker Charles White told SpartanMag following a February visit to East Lansing.
Now, Michigan State insiders Jason Killop and Kenny Jordan have logged expert predictions with 70 percent confidence levels for the Spartans to receive White’s commitment.
MSU now leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for White at 96.8%.
“It was very beautiful,” White told SpartanMag of the February visit. “I haven’t been to Michigan State in a long time, so actually being there, seeing the campus, talking to the coaches, the nutritionist, and academic advisors, it lived up to the standards.”
White had the chance to meet with the defensive coaching staff while in East Lansing.
“There were a lot of people there but I talked to almost every coach on the defensive side of the ball,” he said. “The defensive coordinator, linebackers coach, corners coach, safeties coach, head coach, everyone, so they did a good job with it.”

White met with DC/LB coach Joe Rossi
Spartans defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Joe Rossi was among those who met with White.
“That conversation was very important because he gave me the rundown of where I would be at in their defense,” White said. “He told me what kind of defense they want to run and what their defensive goals are.
“We sat in his office and talked about it, which was good. He showed me what he likes his linebackers to do. (Rossi) likes how I use my angles to tackle. How I am a sideline-to-sideline type player and very athletic. He likes my field vision and ball-chasing abilities.”
White is the nation’s No. 542 overall prospect, No. 60 linebacker and No. 10 recruit from Michigan in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
