North Dakota QB transfer Tommy Schuster commits to Michigan State
North Dakota quarterback transfer Tommy Schuster has committed to Michigan State, he announced via social media. It will be his sixth and final season of eligibility.
Spending five years at North Dakota, including the final three as the full-time starter, Schuster has compiled 9,055 passing yards and 63 touchdown passes on top of a 67.1% completion percentage throughout his career.
2022 was his most impressive season statistically, notching career-highs in passing yards (2,728) and passing touchdowns (20) in a single season. He followed that up in 2023 by passing for 2,238 yards and 19 touchdowns compared to five interceptions. Schuster has also contributed five rushing touchdowns on the ground.
Schuster played high school football at Chippewa Valley (MI) High School, where he was an unranked prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
He will play under first-year head coach Jonathan Smith, who is tasked with turning the Spartan program around after a successful stint at Oregon State.
