It’s been that kind of day for Malik Hall.

Hall, Michigan State’s second-leading scorer, had a monster day against Indiana off the bench, dropping 18 points to help the Spartans to a 76-60 win over the Hoosiers at the Breslin Center on Saturday. His best two points might have come on a shot in the second half when he literally made a basket from behind the backboard as the shot clock expired.

Have a day.

Hall entered the game averaging 10.1 points per game on a team-high 53.7% shooting from the field. He had himself a day against Indiana, and that shot over the backboard proves it.

The Spartans are coming off a rough stretch, losing three of their last five games. Getting Indiana at home appeared to be a chance to bounce back, and they certainly rose to the occasion despite some Hoosiers runs.

Michigan State stays in top 20 of the CBS Sports Top 25 and 1 entering weekend hoops slate

The Purdue Boilermakers are experiencing the life of a normal Big Ten team. On Tuesday, they pulled off a massive home win against Illinois, boosting their chances at getting a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Just two days later, they were blown out by Michigan on the road, dropping out of the tie for first place in the conference.

Because of the upset, the CBS Sports Top 25 and 1 has received another shake-up. With the loss, Purdue slid down five spots, just sneaking into the top 10. A few teams moved up one spot as well, filling the gap the Boilermakers left.
