4-star LB Jeremiah Beasley stays home, commits to Michigan
When Jeremiah Beasley almost committed back in March, it wouldn’t have been to Michigan. At that time, the four-star linebacker out of Belleville (Mich.) planned to commit to Michigan State over Tennessee.
The 6-foot-0, 210-pound senior held off and that gave Michigan time to make its move. Once Chris Partridge had time to move to Ann Arbor from Ole Miss, get on the phone with Beasley and show him how he was wanted by the Wolverines, things quickly shifted towards another in-state school.
And here we are in June and Beasley has committed to Michigan.
“After Michigan added Coach Partridge, I started having that feeling that Michigan could be the school,” Beasley told On3. “Then on my official visit, when I got to spend time with the recruits and the players, I knew I was there. It all started with Coach Partridge though.
“The day Coach Partridge got the job, he called me, he let me know he wanted me and it took off from there. I visited a few times after that, met with him, and things took off. My interest grew, I got on my official visit and that was it. I knew Michigan was my home.”
Beasley is the 24th prospect to commit to Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines this cycle.
Chris Partridge upended the recruitment
From the day he got the job, Coach Partridge made Beasley feel like a priority. Beasley didn’t feel that way before. That is why he was leaning away from the Wolverines.
Partridge changed that.
“It was a big thing for Coach Partridge being at Michigan,” Beasley said. “Who he is, how he recruited me and the way he talked to me, made me feel like a main priority. I didn’t feel like that before. Things quickly were different with him. He just came in, recruited me hard and he made a big impact in my decision.”

The two have bonded since.
“We have a great relationship. I think he is a great coach and he is easy to talk to. He has good energy, I like how he coaches and I am excited to play for him.”
Jeremiah Beasley plans to bring championships to Ann Arbor
Beasley is staying home. That means a lot to him. He loves the support at Michigan, he feels the energy each time he is in Ann Arbor and he plans to win big in the Big House.
“I want to help Michigan get over the hump,” Beasley said. “They have won Big Ten titles and they have been in the last two playoffs, but this recruiting class is the best ever and we will help Michigan win championships.
“I see us winning multiple Big Ten Championships and a National Championship. As a group, this is the best recruiting class in the country. We are going to do big things at Michigan.”
And if Jeremiah Beasley’s plan plays out the way he wants it to, he will get to win at a school in his home state.
“It feels great to play for the home state school. My family will be there and I will get to show out for the city and state. To be able to stay home, it really means a lot. I am going to Michigan, the winningest program in the history of college football and I get to play for a program with great support, great history and great people.”
