4-star Michigan QB commit Jadyn Davis shines in impressive passing performance
After throwing for five touchdowns and nearly 500 yards a week ago, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day four-star Michigan quarterback commit Jadyn Davis lit up the stat sheet again on Friday night.
In a battle on national television against Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic, Davis was 19-of-26 passing for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
Providence Day defeated Charlotte Catholic 42-7. The game was televised on ESPNU.
Davis is the nation’s No. 79 overall prospect and No. 7 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in North Carolina.
Davis part of top 10 Michigan class
The 6-foot-0.5, 190-pound Davis committed to Michigan back in March and is part of a Wolverines class that ranks in the top 10 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
“One of the times I vividly remember is me being in coach Harbaugh’s office and him telling me that the weight of the program’s on my shoulders,” Davis told On3. “He’s putting the program in my hands, really, and I’m gonna be the face of that Wolverine program. I held that with a lot of weight, and also, he told me he was turning down commitments and things of that sort from other guys because he was waiting on me. I’m a big loyalty guy, big relationship guy. For a man to do that to very, very highly-rated, top quarterback recruits across the country, that says a lot.”

Davis said the focus on the team over the individual in Ann Arbor was a major reason why he chose the Wolverines.
“That’s something I want to be a part of, where it’s not all about you walk in that locker room and it’s about individual guys,” Davis said. “It’s about the whole team coming together for one common goal, loving each other outside of the football field.”
“I love everything about Ann Arbor,” he added. “I love everything about being a Wolverine, I just can’t wait to embrace that culture and that tradition and wear that winged helmet on Saturday afternoons and nights.”
Davis is one of 16 blue-chip recruits pledged to the Wolverines. Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller four-star running back Jordan Marshall headlines the class and has put together a couple of impressive weeks to start his senior season. Rochester (Michigan) Adams four-star tight end Brady Prieskorn is the third and final top-100 commit in the Wolverines’ class.
