Aidan Hutchinson recounts scuffle with current Georgia player
Michigan’s freak of a defensive end, Aidan Hutchinson, is in New York City for this weekend’s Heisman Trophy festivities. The ceremony isn’t until Saturday night, so he took some time on Friday to field questions from reporters. Somebody asked him if he ever remembers having any scuffles with Georgia players.
“Yeah, I do. Their tackle, Jamaree Salyer. I remember it was in the [U.S. Army] All-American Game. We got in a little scuffle during one on ones. So that’ll be interesting. I get a little rematch against him four years later. That’ll be fun,” Hutchinson said.
One thing people often overlook in following football is how often elite players cross paths with one another throughout the course of their careers. Scuffles happen in football and it’s no surprise that two elite players like Salyer and Hutchinson would get into it in a one-on-one drill.
The best of the best truly love to compete and football is a physical game. Those things happen. It’s definitely going to be fun to see another matchup between the two players. He’s 100 percent right.
Hutchinson’s draft stock has skyrocketed in the past month
Many people have Hutchinson currently graded as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft. He can further cement his status as the top overall prospect with a great performance against the Bulldogs and potentially, another opponent in the upcoming College Football Playoff.
A few days ago, ESPN’s Mel Kiper, Jr. listed Hutchinson at the top of his Big Board for the 2022 NFL Draft.

The freakish defensive end has seen his stock skyrocket the last few weeks, notably after Michigan’s victory over Ohio State. The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder racked up seven tackles and three sacks in the 42-27 emotional victory.
In the Big Ten Championship Game, he had four tackles and a sack as the Wolverines defeated Iowa 42-3 to punch Michigan’s ticket to the College Football Playoff.
This eason, Hutchinson has racked up 14 sacks, which is a single-season record for Michigan. The Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year also tallied 58 total tackles (33 solo), two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
The Heisman Trophy Ceremony is on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. The award will be presented in person in New York City.
