Alex Orji shows off Michigan Rose Bowl gear haul
Ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl, Michigan’s Alex Orji showed off the gear handed out to the team.
Safe to say, it’s pretty nice stuff. Bags, hats, slides, you name it. And it’s all Jordan Brand so the Wolverines will look pretty fly ahead of the Rose Bowl game.
You can see it in the video posted below.
The sophomore backup quarterback has quite the collection and frankly could make this writer jealous of gear that nice. It pays to be in the Rose Bowl for sure.
Orji is doing more than just showing off some fresh new clothing and gear with Michigan and Rose Bowl logos though.
Since Michigan has to play Alabama and dual threat quarterback Jalen Milroe, it’s been up to Orji to simulate the Crimson Tide offense. And based on the practice reports, Orji is doing a “damn good job.”
“He’s a freak of nature,” defensive tackle Kris Jenkins said of Orji. “You just see how much effort he puts in the weight room, you see how jacked he is, how athletic he is. He’s really a freak of nature. Every single day, he comes in with that mindset of being the best player, the best version of himself he can be. You see that every single day. Complete props to him. He’s an athlete. He’s going to continue to do great things from this point forward.”
Orji has also had a role in the offense the last two games, after exclusively playing in garbage time prior to that. He rushed 2 times for 22 yards, including ripping off a 20-yard run, during the first drive of the third quarter in a 30-24 victory over Ohio State Nov. 25.

He also rushed twice for 9 yards as part of a change-of-pace package in the Big Ten championship game against Iowa, a 26-0 Michigan win.
It remains to be seen if he’ll have any sort of role against Alabama and Nick Saban, but Orji is doing all he can to help his team. He definitely deserves that gear haul!
If Orji can do anything, it’s to help Michigan on the practice or game field and get a win in the semifinals. The Wolverines lost to Georgia and TCU in the last two seasons when making the College Football Playoff.
Now the No. 1 team in the country, Orji and Michigan hope it’s not a short lived affair on New Year’s Day in Pasadena.
