Arkansas State transfer kicker Dominic Zvada commits to Michigan Wolverines
Arkansas State transfer kicker Dominic Zvada recently hit the transfer portal searching for a new home. On Friday night, he found his new team. Zvada officially committed to the Michigan Wolverines and announced the news on his X page, formerly known as Twitter.
He was actually scheduled to kick in the Big House on Sept. 14th, when the Red Wolves played Michigan. But he’ll be making Ann Arbor his home next season, with two years of eligibility remaining. He connected on 34 of 40 field goals in his first two seasons, as well as 71 of 72 extra points. Zvada also showcased impressive leg strength, drilling 14 of 17 field goals from 40 yards or more, demonstrating his power.
Here’s some information on Zvada from his Arkansas State bio.
“A Lou Groza Award semifinalist and freshman All-American (as a frosh), Zvada broke the Sun Belt Conference single-season record by a true freshman for points by kicking in a season with 81. He finished his first year with the Red Wolves going 30-for-31 on PATs with the lone miss being blocked. Zvada was 17-for-18 on field goals, including 4-for-5 on field goals over 45 yards.
“He made a 56-yard field goal at Texas State, the second-longest in FBS last season and second-longest field goal in program history. He is the only kicker since at least 2000 to go 4-for-4 on field goals in a game at Ohio State.”
Michigan enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in school history this year, finishing with an unblemished record of 15-0 and claiming the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. It was their first national title since 1997.

The run was impressive, without a doubt. Especially with the endless number of outside distractions the Wolverines had to deal with. In the end, they rode their running game and dominant defense the sport’s most coveted prize.
The Wolverines will open up their 2024 slate with the Fresno State Bulldogs. That one is set for Saturday, August 31st. Then they’ll have one of the most anticipated matchups of the year, a date with the Texas Longhorns. That game is set for Saturday, September 7th.
As you might imagine, plenty of the players from their national championship run have already been drafted in the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft, including Blake Corum, JJ McCarthy, Junior Colson, Mike Sainristil, and others.
