Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards talk 'Lightning and Lightning' nickname after Penn State win
Michigan is destroying every team it faces on the ground. The latest victim of the Wolverine rushing attack was Penn State, who saw UM’s RB tandem of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards each cross the 100-yard threshold while scoring separate touchdowns from 60+ yards out in the second half.
After the game, the two were interviewed, with Edwards noting the team gave a complete performance in the big win over the Nittany Lions.
“It was a complete game, as you can see. We had at least 500 total yards, the defense played amazing and all praises go to the lord at the end of the day.”
Then, Edwards was asked about he and Corum’s nickname of Lightning and Lightning.

“We’re a dynamic duo. We feed off of each other. It’s a dynamic duo, as you just said. Yep. See, we feed off each other. It’s love around here. We both are great players. We’re best at what we do,” said Edwards.
Corum then joined the discussion, where he was asked if Edwards’ huge day was surprising to him. To which he responded:

“I mean, I expected it. Like I said, they call us lightning and lightning. But some people asked who gonna be the thunder? We don’t need thunder. Lightning and lightning. Double lightning. But it was a great day by Donovan, you know what I’m saying. I love seeing him hit the hole, run hard, and break those long ones. Career day, it was beautiful having another running back back there able to do his thing. Shoutout to the O-line, man. Crushing ’em off the ball, making our job easy.”
Lastly, Blake Corum was asked about running backs coach, Mike Hart, who collapsed on the field last week but returned to the sidelines on Saturday to coach. Corum said of him:
“We do better when he’s here. That’s our coach, on and off the field. I couldn’t say enough great words about Coach Hart. I love him to death.”
