The vision Michigan fans have waited for is finally real. Quarterback Bryce Underwood is officially wearing the maize & blue during practice ahead of the ReliaQuest Bowl.

On Friday, Isaiah Hole of Wolverines Wire shared content of Underwood taking the field and practicing for Michigan in Tampa. That comes ahead of the Wolverines’ matchup on New Year’s Day against Alabama.

After flipping his commitment during the recruiting cycle from LSU to Michigan, Underwood inked his letter of intent with the Wolverines on National Signing Day. In the three weeks since, he has enrolled in Ann Arbor and began practicing with the program last week on December 19th.

Underwood, a native of Belleville just a half hour away from campus, is the No. 1 overall recruit and the No. 1 QB in the 2025 cycle as a Five-Star+ prospect. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He now arrives as the consecutive winner of Gatorade Football Player of the Year in the state. He also does so ahead of some of his final prep events like the Under Armour All-America Game next week.

Underwood has a lot of time left to develop what all he already has in his game with these being his first college snaps over this month. From here, though, is what they’re hoping will be quite the career for his home-state school in Michigan.

Moore states Underwood is ‘as good as any high school quarterback’ he has seen

Michigan signed the No. 1 recruit in the nation on Wednesday with Bryce Underwood making it official with the Wolverines. It’s been a huge deal in Ann Arbor since their flip of his commitment back two weeks ago and Sherrone Moore knows it too with what the maize & blue added with his signature.

Moore commented on what Michigan got in Underwood while on ‘Andy & Ari On3’. They penned what he views as the best high school quarterback that he’s watched considering what all he can do at the position already.

“He’s as good as any high school quarterback I’ve seen play football,” Moore stated.

“From a throwing aspect? Throwing out of the pocket, dropping back. He hasn’t done much under center but wants to and can. From a running aspect? He can run it,” said Moore. “He can do everything you want. He’s super smart. He’s super intuitive. He’s got great touch. He’s got great, you know, arm strength and everything you want.”

“He’s as good as they come,” Moore said.
