2025 On3 No. 1 overall prospect Bryce Underwood visiting Michigan
Belleville (Mich.) five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood is visiting Michigan on Thursday. He revealed the news over Twitter.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound recruit has already been to Ann Arbor multiple times, most recently on March 21. He is one of the Wolverines’ top sophomore targets.
“The atmosphere of Michigan, the fan base is insane,” Underwood told On3’s Chad Simmons on Jan. 21. “A lot of love that they show me, so it’s great.”

Underwood is the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Michigan.
On3 rates Underwood higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2025 On300, he is the No. 1 overall prospect in the country.
In addition to Michigan, Underwood has seen multiple programs this year. They include Florida (April 17), LSU (March 4), Penn State (Jan. 28) and Miami (Jan. 20).
So far, Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class contains two players in Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star cornerback Chris Ewald and Buford (Ga.) linebacker Mantrez Walker. New quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell is one of the Wolverines’ staffers leading the charge to keep Underwood in-state.

“Coach Campbell is a great person because he’s a family guy,” Underwood told Zach Libby of The Wolverine on March 15. “That’s a good thing to have and a good tradition to have (in a coach). He wants me to be a quarterback at Michigan. So did Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. Relationships are everything to me so that’s what it comes down to.”
Underwood discusses other programs of interest
Underwood visited LSU last month with his father, Jaquan. The elder Underwood shared with Billy Embody of The Bengal Tiger that the trip was “amazing.”
“I’ve been building relationships with (Joe Sloan) since last July or August,” Underwood told Embody on Feb. 4. “We’ve been having one for a little while now. He’s a great coach, in my eyes. He produced a lot of great quarterbacks.”
“They’re a great team,” he added. “They’ve still got a lot of work to do, but they’re a great team.”
Similar to Michigan, Underwood told Simmons that he likes Michigan State‘s atmosphere and “the way their fanbase shows a lot of love.” The five-star last took an unofficial visit to East Lansing on Sept. 2.
