2025 4-star CB Chris Ewald commits to Michigan
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star cornerback Chris Ewald may only be a sophomore but he feels like it is time to lock in a commitment.
Ewald has offers from 22 schools but one has risen above the rest. That is Michigan, and Ewald committed to the Wolverines over his local program in Miami and Penn State.
“I feel like I have a great connection with coach Grant (Newsome) and coach (Jim) Harbaugh,” Ewald said.
He is the No. 30 overall recruit and No. 5 cornerback in the 2025 On3 Consensus.
Ewald is the first commit in the 2025 Wolverines recruiting class. Ewald said two of the main reasons he committed to the program was Michigan’s emphasis on life beyond football and that the staff treats you like family.

He told the Michigan staff Thursday of his commitment, and he admitted the coaches were a little surprised at the 2025’s commitment.
Ewald has been to the school four or five times, he said, including a gameday visit to see the Wolverines beat the Nittany Lions.
“It was pretty loud,” Ewald said. “The fans are really into the game.”
Ewald said he is not shutting down his recruitment but he is pretty confident he will end up playing for the Wolverines.
