Class of 2024 WR Channing Goodwin commits to Michigan
Three-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin of Charlotte (NC) Providence Day School announced his commitment to Michigan Sunday afternoon.
The 6-foot-1, 180 pounder chose the Wolverines over North Carolina, South Carolina, and NC State.
Goodwin on why he chose Michigan
“It’s truly a great program, currently and historically they’ve been great,” Goodwin said. “Every time I visited up there also it just felt more and more like home. Then of course with my father playing there I definitely knew a little bit about the program before they even started recruiting me. But the entire coaching staff made it clear to me that I would be able to write my own story and make a name for myself at Michigan.”
Relationship with coaching staff + Michigan’s plan for him
“The whole staff is great,” Goodwin said. “Coach Harbaugh has done a great job with surrounding himself with the right people and Coach Bellemy and I are definitely the closest. He’s been recruiting me for about a year now. Obviously Michigan has a good run game, but he’s been able to show how the pass will be complemented by that running game.”
The North Carolina wide receiver joins coach Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines’ Top 5 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by his high school teammate and four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, four-star tight end Brady Prieskorn, and others.
