Pittsburgh (Penn.) Central Catholic three-star linebacker Cole Sullivan has announced his commitment to Michigan. He chose the Wolverines over Duke, Notre Dame, Stanford and Wisconsin.

Sullivan is the No. 519 overall prospect and No. 58 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Pennsylvania.

On3 rates Sullivan higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2024 On300, Sullivan is the No. 37 linebacker in the country and the No. 10 player in Pennsylvania.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound recruit is the second player in five days to pledge to head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff. Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School three-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin chose Michigan on May 7.

Three linebackers are now committed to Michigan in Sullivan, Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth four-star Mason Curtis and South Park (Park.) three-star Zach Ludwig. Following Sullivan’s decision, the Wolverines’ group remains No. 5 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Big Ten.

Michigan’s class is one of the best in college football

Michigan’s class is led by Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, the No. 28 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the No. 4 quarterback in the country.

Last month, Michigan landed commitments from five players. They are Rochester (Mich.) Adams four-star tight end Brady Prieskorn, Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst four-star offensive tackle Andrew Sprague, Austin (Texas) Vandegrift four-star offensive tackle Blake Frazier, Cheshire (Conn.) Cheshire Academy four-star defensive lineman Jerod Smith and Ponte Vedra Beach (Fla.) Ponte Vedra three-star interior offensive lineman Jake Guarnera.

Harbaugh and Co. also had a strong March on the recruiting trail. Between March 21 and March 31, the Wolverines notched pledges from Davis, Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller four-star running back Jordan Marshall and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward three-star offensive tackle Ben Roebuck.

Other blue-chip recruits who have committed to the Wolverines are Harper Woods (Mich.) four-star safety Jacob Oden, Avon (Ohio) four-star interior offensive lineman Luke Hamilton and Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier four-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond. Meanwhile, Michigan is still after numerous talented targets, including Springfield (Ohio) four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., Longview (Texas) four-star running back Taylor Tatum and Cheshire (Conn.) Cheshire Academy four-star EDGE Jacob Smith.

“We are about to build a national championship class,” Oden told Zach Libby of The Wolverine after Davis’ commitment.
