Colston Loveland injury update: Unfortunate news emerges on Michigan TE
Michigan will apparently be without star tight end Colston Loveland in the second half against Northwestern, according to the Michigan radio broadcast. Loveland did not come out of the tunnel with the team for the second half.
Michigan led, 17-6, at the half and quickly took a 24-6 lead on its first possession of the second half, all runs. Loveland finished the game with three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.
After the game, an eventual 50-6 win for the Wolverines, head coach Sherrone Moore was brief in his update about Loveland.
“Yeah, just working through something,” Moore said. “We’ll see what they say when we go see the doctors.”
Loveland missed time earlier in the 2024 season with a shoulder injury, not playing against USC, but has been back in the lineup for several weeks.
Loveland entered Saturday with 53 catches for 560 yards and four touchdowns in nine games.
Odds are out for The Game

Michigan beat Ohio State three years in a row while coached by Jim Harbaugh. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes come in as the favorite this time around with the Wolverines rebuilding under Moore.

But that doesn’t make this rivalry any less appealing.
According to FanDuel, Ohio State was listed as a -21.5 point favorite. The total for the game was set at 44.5 points.
If you want to bet the money line, Ohio State was listed as a -3000 favorite while Michigan is +1200 if you’re picking straight up.
And while Michigan ultimately rolled to a win over Northwestern on Saturday, Ohio State picked up an impressive win, swamping undefeated Indiana, 38-15, to move to 10-1.
The margin was 31-15, and running back TreVeyon Henderson had slid down at the one yard line giving Ohio State a chance to basically kneel out the game. But the Buckeyes pushed in another touchdown on a quarterback sneak, a decision head coach Ryan Day explained during an on-field postgame interview.
“Well, you say leave no doubt,” Day said. “And you know, these guys want to finish the game the right way. TreVeyon did the right thing going down at the one-yard line. We ate up the clock. We didn’t want to put the defense back out there. You just never know in games like this, it’s a top five matchup. So we wanted to finish it the right way and make sure that everybody knows that this is the Ohio State Buckeyes.”
