Davis Warren reveals he suffered torn ACL in ReliaQuest Bowl win vs. Alabama
Michigan quarterback Davis Warren suffered a torn ACL in the ReliaQuest Bowl win over Alabama, he announced via social media. He posted a picture on social media with a brace on his right leg.
Warren completed nine of his 12 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the 19-13 victory over the Crimson Tide. He left the game in the third quarter with an injury, but later returned to the sideline. However, he would not return.
Saturday, as he celebrated the victory, Warren posted a photo in a swimsuit with his leg heavily braced. He confirmed he tore his ACL during that win, but that wasn’t stopping him from celebrating.
“Celebrating a win and so proud of the way the boys finished this season!” Warren wrote on X. “I unfortunately suffered a torn ACL in the bowl game. Thanks to the Michigan faithful for all the support this season. Can’t wait to battle to be back on the field with my guys in AA and go blue!”
Warren was one of three quarterbacks to jump under center for Michigan this year, along with Jack Tuttle and Alex Orji. Tuttle suffered a season-ending injury, though, which meant it became a two-quarterback room the rest of the way. Tuttle got the start from there, but Orji still appeared in 11 games.

Davis Warren completed 64.1% of his passes for 1,199 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior. It was his first major action after sitting behind J.J. McCarthy.
The win in the ReliaQuest Bowl completed a 7-5 season for Michigan in Sherrone Moore’s first full year at the helm and created some momentum heading into next season, as well.
The Wolverines are also red-hot on the recruiting trail, both at the high school level and in the transfer portal. As of Saturday night, Michigan holds the No. 5-ranked transfer class in the country, according to the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index. The headliner of that class is former Alabama running back Justice Haynes, who comes in as the No. 22 overall player to hit the open market so far this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.
Michigan’s success in the portal comes after a hot run on the recruiting trail. The most notable signing, of course, is quarterback Bryce Underwood – the No. 1 overall player from the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
