Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star wide receiver James Madison II is visiting Michigan on March 26. He announced the news over social media.

Madison II is the No. 265 overall prospect and No. 41 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 37 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wideout announced his top 10 schools on Jan. 8 before being offered by Michigan and multiple programs. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia is currently leading for his commitment at 40.4%.

The Wolverines have been on a roll recently on the recruiting trail. They landed Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller four-star running back Jordan Marshall and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward three-star offensive tackle Ben Roebuck over two days earlier this week.

Right now, Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 8 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but does not contain any wide receivers. Yet according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Wolverines are trending for four talented wideouts: Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School three-star Channing Goodwin, King George (Va.) three-star Mekhai White, Bolingbrook (Ill.) three-star I’marion Stewart and New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine three-star Joshua Jackson.

Alabama and Miami have impressed Madison II

In addition to the Wolverines, Alabama and Miami are some of the other schools under consideration by Madison II. He spoke with Joseph Hastings of BamaInsider about the Crimson Tide.

“It’s Alabama, so I have a high interest level in them just because of what they’ve produced and put into the league over the years,” Madison said on Jan. 25. “They have a good track record. I know they’ll be able to hold me to that standard if I go there.”

Madison II also told Hastings he is hoping to commit ahead of his senior season. There is a chance that the Hurricanes will be in contention for his pledge, as the four-star is impressed by the new-look Miami under head coach Mario Cristobal.

“They may not even be all the way established yet, but that their players are saying and the coaches are saying that they’re moving forward,” Madison II told Stephen Wagner of CaneSport on Jan. 30. “Like, this is totally different. I feel like that’s the main thing, that they’re working toward getting toward that and they have a plan to do it instead of just saying that they’re going to do it.”
