Jett Howard, a 6-foot-7 small forward out of Miami (Fla.) IMG Academy has committed to Michigan basketball for the class of 2022, sources tell On3.

It’s no secret that Michigan has been the heavy favorite to land Jett since his father, Juwan Howard, accepted the head coaching job. Despite the always likely chance he would end up playing for his dad, Jett still decided to go on visits to other schools, such as Tennessee (who put up the biggest fight), Georgetown, and NC State. Howard also picked up offers from LSU, Vanderbilt, and Florida.

Howard, the No. 30 overall prospect in the On3 100, joins his close friend and former teammate Gregg Glenn. Not to mention, four-star center Tarris Reed and four-star point guard Dug McDaniel have also pledged to the Wolverines. Michigan now has solidified itself with a top-5 recruiting class.

Scouting Report on Jett Howard

On3’s Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton had this to say about Jett Howard:

“Jett Howard impressed with his overall competitiveness when I watched him on the AAU circuit this spring. He competes on both ends. He’s a physical player. He can play through some contact on the offensive end, as well as defensively he competes to get his opponent off a spot. Shot the ball well from three. Made tough shots. Wasn’t scared to take tough shots. I think he’s a guy whose game will continue to expand off the bounce. He has the ability to really stretch the floor, help with spacing because he does shoot the ball so well. He has the physicality, the frame, and the ability to shoot the ball which will translate really, really well to high major basketball.”
