Jim Harbaugh was asked about the NCAA notice of allegations at his alma mater Michigan, amid fallout of the alleged sign stealing scandal.

The NOA would be related to the scandal that hit the program during the 2023 season under former head coach Harbaugh. At the time, he was punished by the Big Ten with a three-game suspension to finish the regular season.

Former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions is expected to receive Level 1 violations for his role in arranging off-campus and in-person scouting. However Harbaugh, now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, did not apologize for the situation and denied any wrongdoing

“Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal,” Harbaugh said, via Daniel Popper. “I was raised with that lesson. I have raised my family on that lesson. I have preached that lesson to the teams that I’ve coached. No one’s perfect. If you stumble, you apologize and you make it right.

“Today, I do not apologize. I did not participate, was not aware nor complicit in those said allegations. So for, it’s back to work and attacking with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.”

Jim Harbaugh won’t ‘apologize’ for Michigan NOA

In addition to Stalions, another staffer is expected to be hit with violations related to dinner and a ride for student-athletes. At least two other former coaches are expected to be accused of Level 2 violations related to paying for dinner for athletes.

At this rate, Harbaugh is seemingly unaffected by whatever’s to come at Michigan. He left following a national championship win in January.

Any potential punishment coming will likely be handed at Michigan and not necessarily Harbaugh.

“It seems like the postseason bans aren’t necessarily the way the NCAA is going as of late,” The Wolverine’s Clayton Sayfie said on Andy Staples On3. “In terms of vacated title, I would see that as unlikely too. I do think Michigan fans would care, but like you said, we saw with our own two eyes what happened on the field last year.

“We saw what happened when Michigan was at their own disadvantage at a certain point without Jim Harbaugh, without Connor Stalions I guess you could say as well, and with Sherrone Moore having to step in as head coach.”
