WATCH: Jim Harbaugh takes dunk tank plunge at carnival
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has never been shy about having a little fun off the field during his time as a college football head coach. On Thursday, he decided to tell the Michigan beat writer for the Detroit News–Angelique Chengelis–that she would never hit the target when he was sitting in the dunk tank. Well, it turns out, she proved him wrong, and fired a heater right on target. She drilled the bullseye and plunged the Wolverines’ head coach into an ice-cold tub of water.
Check it out.
It’s good to see him maintain his sense of humor and his youthful exuberance through all the years. It’s also cool for him to enjoy some of the final moments of the “offseason”, even though there never really is such a thing in big-time college sports.
On3’s J.D. PicKell talks about Harbaugh drama in offseason
Harbaugh caused a huge stir in Ann Arbor this offseason, when all signs pointed to him spurning the program he took to the College Football Playoff for an NFL return. However, the NFL opted to pass, and Harbaugh is back with Michigan like nothing ever happened.
While some won’t believe it, JD PicKell of On3 Sports believe the Wolverines will be able to put the drama surrounding Harbaugh behind them and move forward.

“They’re not thrilled with recruiting, as of the recording of this video. But probably the biggest thing that went on this offseason was their head coach, Jim Harbaugh, took interviews with NFL jobs, and ultimately thought he was going to get the Minnesota job. Ended up not getting that job with the Vikings, and he’s back with Michigan,” began PicKell. “So, from the outside looking in you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ That’s like having your girlfriend go and talk to another guy for however many weeks and then come back and say, ‘No, actually — we’re still together. It’s all right. We’re still together.’ Would you not feel a little bit uncomfortable? Talk to the people at Michigan and they say, ‘We put it behind us.’ And good for them. That tells me a lot about the structure of this program right now, that you’re able to put together a locker room that’s not overly concerned with your coach potentially taking another job.
“So, as the story goes, both coordinators also left. So, you have some new faces on that coaching staff. But in-house at Michigan, they’re pretty confident. They’re pretty confident about returning this coming year and finding a way to recreate the success that they had.”
Nevertheless, the drama caused by Jim Harbaugh will be blamed if Michigan takes a step back in the 2022-2023 season, so the head coach better lead the Wolverines to some big wins once again.
