Michigan head coach Juwan Howard put together quite a nice basketball program. But there are others behind the scenes.

The Wolverines head coach shared the crew that made it all possible behind the scenes when he tweeted over the weekend. The crew dubbed “Team Maize” helps the program on the digital and technical side by the looks of things.

Howard showed his appreciation and it can be seen below.

“There are many, many who help this program,” Howard wrote on Twitter. “But Team Maize is a very special group! Their work behind the scenes is so vital and appreciated. Thank you! (Praying emojis).”

One of the crew members, Ben Silberman, retweeted Howard’s post. Silberman is a Student Creative Director, according to his LinkedIn page.

He is an intern under Howard’s program and presumably the others are students as well that aid the basketball program behind closed doors.

With the win over Michigan State, the Wolverines improved to 15-12 to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive with four games left.

Michigan defeats Michigan State 84-72

The Wolverines took down their in-state rival during a somber weekend game. Michigan State University was the subject of a tragic shooting last week.

Many schools, including Michigan, sent their love and support to the Spartan family.

During the game, it was a battle between two upper-tier Big Ten programs.

“It’s been a point of emphasis about how we gave up 14 offensive rebounds to Wisconsin, and that should never happen,” Howard said of out-rebounding Michigan State. “Nothing against Wisconsin. Not saying Wisconsin isn’t capable, because they showed that, but it was based on, they wanted it more than we did, even though defensively we worked so hard on the defensive end and them shooting 33 percent from the field and still giving them 14 extra possessions. It’s tough to win ball games like that on the road.

“Tonight, we made a conscious effort of being the toughest, nastiest, the grittiest — by going to the glass, by attacking the paint, by getting fouls and getting to the foul line. We were so locked in these last couple days. You’re going to get results like that [if you do that].”
