Four-Star EDGE Lugard Edokpayi commits to Michigan
Four-star EDGE Lugard Edokpayi of Bowie (MD) Bishop McNamara announced his commitment to Michigan Wednesday morning.
The 6-foot-6, 230 pounder chose the Wolverines over Maryland, Tennessee, Minnesota, and others.
“Michigan’s resume has always been one of the best in college football. As far as the great academics and being a top 5 public university, to being able to compete and play against the best of the best in the Big 10. I felt as though Michigan would be able to develop me into the best edge rusher and while I earn my degree. Look at all the edge talent they have produced over the years, and just the sense of culture that was there. Coach Elston and coach Roney are great and full of energy and can’t wait for them to coach me up as well as coach Harbaugh being a great mentor and leader.”
His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him stood out as well.
“I’m close with coach Elston and Roney. I’m just excited to continue to build the connection with them and they plan on using me as a buck . Essentially a rush end being able to play in a 2 or 3pt stance.”
