Boise State 4-star WR commit Gatlin Bair visiting Michigan
Big-time games bring out big-time prospects. That’s certainly the case for The Game between Ohio State and Michigan in Ann Arbor this weekend.
The Wolverines are hosting plenty of high-profile recruits for the most important game of their season, including a high-end flip target in Burley (Idaho) Senior four-star wide receiver and current Boise State commit Gatlin Bair.
Back on Aug. 5, The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder committed to the Broncos over Michigan. The race was close, but the Wolverines couldn’t overcome the in-state program.
“It’s been a back-and-forth battle since after my Michigan visit,” Bair told On3 upon his commitment. “I got to the point where it was between those two. It could have gone either way but honestly Boise State gave me every opportunity and showed me an in-depth plan on how I can achieve all of my dreams and goals on and off the field. I know I can have a really good life after football.”
Things could be changing, however. Boise State fired head coach Andy Avalos, leaving the door open in Bair’s recruitment. Now, Michigan and Oregon are among those prodding to try and flip Bair — who is not enrolling in school until 2026 due to an upcoming two-year mission trip.

“Michigan is viewed as the bigger threat to the Broncos at this stage,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote earlier this week. “Boise State is the home state school for the four-star wide receiver out of Burley. When Bair committed, Michigan was right there, and if he makes it to the Big House this weekend, this race could get a little more interesting.
Bair is the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 10 wideout in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Idaho.
If he were to flip to the Wolverines, he would become their highest-ranked pledge in the 2024 cycle. Bair is one of the most important prospects on campus in Ann Arbor this weekend, along with Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle.
Bair has an On3 NIL Valuation of $156K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
