Michigan OL commit Jake Guarnera trolls Ohio State fans after huge victory
There’s no shortage of bad blood between Michigan and Ohio State on the football field, but the recent controversy surrounding the Wolverines’ sign-stealing operation has only intensified that.
Saturday’s showdown between the two teams was an instant classic, one which Michigan came out on top 30-24 and secured a berth in the Big Ten championship game. And afterward, there was no shortage of barbs on social media.
That included one from Michigan offensive line commit Jake Guarnera, who tweeted a photo of the final score with the caption “Steal This Sign.”
Guarnera, from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, was one of Michigan’s earliest commitments in the 2024 class back in April and has been a vocal leader of the group.
Guarnera headed to Ann Arbor in December
The 6-foot-4, 283-pounder is set to graduate in December and enroll early with the Wolverines.
“I think it will help me adjust to college better,” Guarnera told TheWolverine.com. “I know I’m a little undersized for college right now and need to add some weight. I think that’s going to be the time that I’ll be able to do that, so I can help the team. I’m going to be looking forward to working with Coach Herb (Ben Herbert). He was a big piece of why I chose Michigan.”

Major recruiting weekend for the Wolverines
He was one of a number of commitments on campus, as well as a number of major 2024 and 2025 targets. Included in that group is major 2024 flip target Gatlin Bair, who is currently pledged to Boise State.
“Michigan is viewed as the bigger threat to the Broncos [than Oregon] at this stage,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote earlier this week. “Boise State is the home state school for the four-star wide receiver out of Burley. When Bair committed, Michigan was right there, and if he makes it to the Big House this weekend, this race could get a little more interesting.
Bair is the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 10 wideout in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Idaho.
If he were to flip to the Wolverines, he would become their highest-ranked pledge in the 2024 cycle.
