Michigan true freshman linebacker Jeremiah Beasley plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Beasley represents just the second Wolverine to enter the transfer portal during the spring transfer window, joining sophomore cornerback DJ Waller. Departing from the reigning national champions following his first spring practice with Michigan after enrolling early in January.

Beasley played high school football at Belleville High School in Michigan, where he was a four-star prospect. Ranked the No. 399 overall recruit and the No. 36 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

In high school Beasley was a two way player, recording 120 tackles and five sacks on defense and 893 rushing yards with 14 touchdowns on offense at running back. Helping lead Belleville to three consecutive appearances in the state championship game with two title wins. Also lettering in track and field.

He re-opens his recruitment with all four years of eligibility after boasting over 25 offers out of high school, receiving some praise from Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary during spring practice.

Michigan Transfer Numbers

All in all this offseason, Beasley represents the 19th player to depart from the program. With Michigan adding just two players in return through the portal with the additions of former Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Priebe and Maryland linebacker Jaishawn Barham. But despite the numbers being lopsided, the Wolverines still rank No. 36 in On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings with an Index Score of 5 in the team’s first offseason under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
