Michigan guard Laila Phelia enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Michigan Wolverines guard Laila Phelia has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Last season, Phelia averaged 16.8 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Wolverines. The team finished with a 20-14 overall record, good enough for sixth in the Big Ten over the 2023-2024 campaign.

On the men’s basketball side for the Wolverines, Michigan foward Terrance Williams II has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility and entering the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on Thursday.

The 6-foot-7 senior averaged 12.4 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Wolverines this past season. He finished the season on a hot streak, scoring in double figures in six of Michigan’s last seven games of the season.

The love, the hate, the highs, the lows…the blessings, the lessons. Through everything I have experienced, it helped me become the man am today. I have formed many lifelong friendships and am blessed for each one.I have had conversations with my family and coaches, and have done much thinking about what’s next. I will be declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft while maintaining my college eligibility.”

Overall, Williams played four seasons in Ann Arbor. He was a reserve during his freshman and sophomore years at Michigan, appearing in 52 games and making one start. His production increased each year, starting 26 games in 2023 and all 31 for the Wolverines in 2024.
