Jim Harbaugh has bizarre quote to describe current state of Michigan's locker room
Michigan was able to remain undefeated this weekend with a 31-24 win over Maryland, doing so for a second straight week without head coach Jim Harbaugh on the sideline.
Last weekend’s game marked the fifth of the season Harbaugh has missed due to suspension, currently in the midst of a three-game suspension to end the regular season handed down by the Big Ten amid the program’s sign-stealing investigation following a self-imposed three-game suspension to start the season for allegations of NCAA recruiting violations.
Michigan’s ongoing sigh-stealing investigation has dominated the discourse surrounding their football team, potentially serving as a major distraction as the Wolverines strive to win a third straight Big Ten title and potentially take home a national championship. But when it comes to blocking out the outside noise, Harbaugh recently said his squad is doing so, stating that his team is staying in one piece by using an interesting analogy.
“With all the outside noise, our locker room’s in one piece. Like my locker rooms a lot like my mom’s bathing suits; like to see them in one piece,” Harbaugh said.
Even amid his suspension Harbaugh continues to deliver notable quotes when he takes the podium, referring to Michigan as ‘America’s Team‘ last Monday following their first ranked win of the season over Penn State. But despite how anyone feels about his sound bites, his latest seems to ring true as his team continues to seemingly get closer amid their off the field controversy.

From interim head coach Sherrone Moore‘s emotional postgame interview after their win over the Nittany Lions to their players sporting ‘Michigan vs. Everyonody’ and ‘Free Harbaugh’ apparel before games, the Wolverines have seemed to accept their role as college football’s most talked about team even if the narrative is negative.
On the field their results have been undeniable, regarded as one of the top teams in the nation boasting an 11-0 record heading into the last game of the regular season. The Wolverines lead the country in win margin defeating opponents by an average of 29.3 points per game, but their tallest task of the season comes this weekend as they face rival Ohio State.
Michigan has been able to stay in one piece this entire season amid distractions, but will they be able to do so this weekend when it matters most yet again without their head coach on the sidelines? That will be answered Saturday at noon ET, as the Buckeyes and Wolverines will square off for a second straight season as undefeated, top-3 ranked teams with a lot on the line.
