Michigan LB Micah Pollard enters NCAA transfer portal

Michigan linebacker Micah Pollard entered the NCAA transfer portal following three seasons with the team.
Over the course of three seasons, Pollard had 15 total tackles, playing the bulk of his snaps in 2022 and ’23. He played in just two games in 2024.
As a member of the Class of 2022, Pollard was a three-star recruit out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 87 overall prospect in the state, the No. 65 linebacker in the class and the No. 620 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan will be down a linebacker now that Pollard entered the portal. With that, he won’t play in Michigan’s bowl game against Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Michigan finished the season 7-5 with victories over rivals Michigan State and OSU, saving the best for last — a 13-10 win in Columbus. Just making a bowl game wasn’t the goal this year, but head coach Sherrone Moore said weeks ago it was critical for the development of the program and the younger players.
“I think it’s huge,” he said. “It’s huge for the program, obviously playing another game, getting another chance to play with your team. but building on the future … getting more practices — it’s like another spring ball for the young guys. It’s more football for the guys that keep getting better at football, so it’s huge for us and huge for the program.”
