Michigan linebacker Semaj Bridgeman has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Bridgeman departs from the Wolverines’ program following just one season with the team, redshirting during Michigan’s national championship run in a season where he didn’t receive any playing time. As he now reopens his recruitment with four seasons of eligibility remaining in his college career.

Bridgeman played high school football at the Imhotep Charter Institute in Philadelphia, where he was a four-star prospect. Ranked the No. 307 overall recruit and the No. 32 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

All in all this offseason, Bridgeman represents the 20th player to depart from the program. With Michigan adding just two players in return through the portal with the additions of former Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Priebe and Maryland linebacker Jaishawn Barham. But despite the numbers being lopsided, the Wolverines still rank No. 35 in On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings with an Index Score of 4 in the team’s first offseason under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
