Michigan offers 2024 Mater Dei OT DeAndre Carter
Michigan extended an offer to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle DeAndre Carter on Tuesday.
Carter is a 6-foot-5 sophomore who starts at left tackle for Mater Dei, the No. 1 high school team in the country.
The Wolverines are Carter’s first offer from a team not in the western United States. His four other offers are Arizona, California, Oregon State and USC.
DeAndre Carter had a breakout game in Mater Dei’s season opener against Duncanville (Texas) High. Carter spent much of the game matched up with four-star EDGE Omari Abor, who is the No. 174 recruit in the 2022 On300 rankings.
Carter more than held his own, and neutralized Abor for much of the game.
DeAndre Carter isn’t the only 2024 recruit making waves for Mater Dei
When you are the No. 1 team in the country, it is not surprising that your team is full of future Division I talent. That is no doubt the case with Mater Dei.

In addition to DeAndre Carter, quarterback Elijah Brown is starting and thriving for Mater Dei as a sophomore.
Brown was only the fourth freshman to start for Mater Dei after Matt Barkley, Todd Marinovich and JT Daniels, and has continued his success.
He was offered by Ole Miss last week and made a trip out to Oxford, Miss., over the weekend.
