Michigan offers California 2023 safety Christian Pierce
California continues to be an important recruiting territory for the Michigan Wolverines. So, it’s no surprise to see the Wolverines have offered a scholarship to Christian Pierce, one of the top 2023 defensive back prospects in the Golden State.
Pierce, a safety who is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, shared news of the offer Tuesday morning on social media. The Wolverines join the offer list with Nevada, Oregon State, Rice and USC.
Christian Pierce told On3 the Michigan offer is something that catches his attention. That’s especially true since the Wolverines are having a lot of success with other players from the area.
Michigan’s offer comes just three days after Christan Pierce was offered by USC. Rice extended an offer on Sept. 23, Oregon State offered him on Sept. 19 and his first offer came from Nevada on Sept. 1.
It’s been a busy September for Christan Pierce. But it sounds like it’s just the beginning of what is bound to be one of the top recruitments in the Southland.
Christian Pierce latest California player targeted by Michigan
While the Wolverines have yet to grab a commitment in the 2023 class, Michigan struck paydirt in California quite a bit in the 2022 class. The Wolverines have commitments from three players in the senior class in California. Interestingly, that is the same number of commits from Michigan.
The leader of the California commits for Michigan is consensus three-star quarterback Jayden Denegal of Apple Valley, Calif. He picked Michigan over scholarships from eight other schools. He took his official visit to Michigan this past weekend.

Consensus three-star defensive lineman Mason Graham of Anaheim Servite is one of the Wolverines’ highest-ranked recruits from California.
Graham remains steadfast with his recent pledge to Michigan, despite earning a scholarship offer from Oregon on Monday and an offer from USC last week. Graham’s stock is on the rise after a solid start to his senior season. The Wolverines were in on him early.
The Wolverine’s renewed push in California and parts of the West Coast comes after former Michigan offensive lineman Courtney Morgan, a Los Angeles native, was hired as director of player personnel in April.
Christian Pierce is just the latest offer for Michigan from the 2023 class in California. The Wolverines have already offered nearly 20 players from the state. More will certainly be on the way as the season progresses.
