Michigan RB Benjamin Hall plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Michigan running back Benjamin Hall plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Over the last two years, Hall played modestly but preserved a year of eligibility with a redshirt. In total, Hall has 44 carries for for 141 yards over the last two seasons.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Hall was a three-star recruit out of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 102 overall prospect in the state, the No. 70 running back in the class and the No. 1,023 overall prospect in the class.

Hall wasn’t the only player to enter the portal for Michigan over the last few days. Linebacker Jason Hewlett also entered.

Hewlett recorded stats in one game for Michigan this past season. He logged a productive three tackles (two solo) during his apperance against Northwestern in Novemeber. Michigan would win that game 50-6 in Ann Arbor.
Before college, Hewlett was a three-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 550 prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, as well as the No. 58 linebacker in his cycle.
This past season, Michigan finished with an 8-5 final record (seven wins in the regular season). This inlcuded consecutive wins over Ohio State, who would go on to win the national championship, in the regular season finale and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the ReliaQuest Bowl to end the season.
