Michigan running back Leon Franklin has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Franklin contributed mostly to special teams and the practice squad in 2023.

Franklin spent the past three seasons in Ann Arbor, contributing 23 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown to Michigan’s rushing efforts over that span. The lone rushing touchdown of his Wolverine career came against Minnesota on Oct. 7.

The play he might be most remember for to Michigan fans was in 2022 during an eventual 59-0 win over UConn when he caught a 20-yard touchdown pass — good for the first reception and overall touchdown of his career.

He’ll bring a veteran presence to any ball club he chooses — not to mention the winning mindset he’s likely acquired from playing football at a school like Michigan, who has earned an opportunity to play in the College Football Playoffs in each of the three years he was on campus.

Franklin was unranked in the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
