Michigan releases new Jordan brand football cleat
There are certain things about the Michigan brand that are never going to change. The maize and blue color scheme. The winged football helmet. “The Victors” fight song.
But one thing that will change all the time and even from player to player is the cleats Michigan players will wear on the field.
The school just released a new maize-and-blue Jordan XII cleat. It’s just another thing for Wolverines fans to get excited about this year.
Michigan has made back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances, falling in the semifinals both times. But this could be the team’s year as other teams flip over to new starting quarterbacks.
The Wolverines are the only team out of the AP Poll’s top seven programs at the end of the last season to be returning their starting quarterback from last season.

That stability is the reason why College GameDay host Rece Davis believes the team should enter the season ranked as the nation’s No. 1 outfit.
“Well, because it’s in the state of Michigan, they’re asking me if Michigan is going to win the national championship … and at least to start the season, and I believe ranking should be very fluid early. I’m going to have Michigan No. 1 in the preseason,” Davis said. “My biggest reason is they are one of the few contenders who have enough everywhere else and a proven quarterback who I believe is going to be much better. He was already good, but I think he’s going to take a giant step forward, J.J. McCarthy this upcoming season.”
Davis isn’t the only one buying into the Michigan hype heading into the season.
Bruce Feldman was on the Move the Sticks podcast recently and said he believes this is Michigan’s best shot to win the national title since Jim Harbaugh arrived.
“They have a bunch of those guys who decided to come back as opposed to leaving early for the NFL and a lot of those guys were their real team leaders, and they’re almost all back,” Feldman said. “To me, they not only should be a playoff team, I think if J.J. can take the next step, and look, he’s going to need a little help from the receivers … I don’t want to say (they are the) odds-on favorite, but … this is the most talented team they’ve ever had.”
