Michigan didn’t end up going to court today with the Big Ten. Even so, that doesn’t mean any less news has flowed regarding the sign-stealing scandal in Ann Arbor. Now, the school has shared another release when it comes to their latest decisions in the matter.

The Wolverines another let out another statement on Friday in the aftermath of the program relieving Chris Partridge as a member of the football program. It also shared clarification on the investigation from the NCAA as well as the Big Ten’s monitoring of that process.

“From the outset, our focus has been on seeking due process and allowing the NCAA to conduct a fair and deliberate investigation,” the statement read. “Although the Big ten has closed its investigation, we are continuing to cooperate with the NCAA as it moves forward with its ongoing investigation.”

“Consistent with our commitment to integrity, we will continue to take the appropriate actions, including disciplinary measures, based on information we obtain,” it continued. “Earlier today, Michigan Athletics relieved Chris Partridge of his duties as a member of the Michigan Football staff. Due to employee privacy laws, we are unable to comment further.”

Partridge allegedly covered up and destroyed evidence in relation to the sign-stealing case involving Connor Stalions. That report from Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports also shared that a booster was funding the sign-stealing operation.

Nothing was confirmed but, with that out there, it could be a reason why Michigan decided to not go to court with the Big Ten regarding the three game-suspension of Jim Harbaugh.

Partridge first arrived in Ann Arbor in 2015 as director of player personnel. He then went on to serve in several different roles because going to Ole Miss for a few seasons. Then, ahead of this season, he returned to the Wolverines as their linebackers coach.

Now, Rick Minter, the father of current Michigan DC Jesse Minter, will take over as the interim linebackers coach.

There’s always a new twist or turn when it comes to this ongoing story and investigation. With another member of the staff now gone, there’s no telling who or what could be next for the two-time defending champions of the Big Ten.

Report: Jim Harbaugh to travel with team to Maryland

Jim Harbaugh will still travel with Michigan to Maryland according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. That decison comes despite his suspension from actually coaching on Saturday.

That suspension doesn’t allow Harbaugh to coach on game days or be in the stadium. However, it doesn’t keep him away from his team during the week. Evidently, Harbaugh plans to use every last second he can to prep his squad each week. He will address the team and be involved in the prep up in until game time, Rittenberg added. It’s a routine Harbaugh already went through against Penn State last week.

On Thursday, Harbaugh and Michigan stood down and accepted the final two games of his Big Ten suspension.
