Michigan ties program record for made three-pointers vs. Western Kentucky
The Michigan Wolverines throttled the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Sunday night. They rolled to a 112-64 beatdown in historic fashion at the Crisler Center. They torched the nets from beyond-the-arc and tied the program record for the most made threes in a single-game. Once the smoke had cleared, Dusty May’s squad had drilled 19 shots from beyond-the-arc. Michigan hit 19 of their 40 three-point attempts, shooting 47.5% from deep.
Western Kentucky on the other hand, just hit 5 of 25 shots from deep (20.0%). The 112 points scored on Sunday night against WKU are the most points for Michigan in a game since scoring 112 in 1998. The Wolverines had 103 points with 6:05 left, before emptying their bench. Michigan’s all-time record for points in a game is 128, and that came against Purdue in 1966.

Danny Wolf drained the 19th one on Sunday night to tie the record. The Wolverines’ blowout victory snapped a six-game winning streak for the Hilltoppers. Vladislav Goldin and Nimari Burnett both pumped in 17 points to lead Michigan to the win. The Wolverines finished with six players in double digits. Tre Donaldson had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Danny Wolf had a double-double as well, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

They had a commanding edge on the glass, with Michigan outrebounding WKU 54-27. The Wolverines did a great job of sharing the ball, dishing out 21 assists to just 5 for Western Kentucky. Michigan was up 59-31 at halftime and this one was not a fair fight for much of the contest. It’ll likely go down as one of the biggest blowouts of the 2024-2025 college basketball campaign.
Michigan improved their overall record to 10-3 overall and 7-0 at home. Western Kentucky dropped to 9-4 overall and 1-3 on the road. Next up for the Wolverines, they’ll take on the USC Trojans on January 4th. That one will be played at 8:00 PM on FOX.
