Michigan to honor slain Oxford High students, football player
The Michigan Wolverines will honor the victims of the Oxford High School shooting on Saturday. The team will sport yellow patches in the shape of the Oxford High “O” logo to honor all the victims, survivors and the Michigan community.
Displayed on the patches are the letters “TM” and the number “42,” representing Tate Myre, a senior football player and scholarship recipient, one of the four students shot and killed on Tuesday. There is a petition to change the name of Oxford High’s football stadium to honor Myre. Early reports indicate that Myre attempted to disarm the shooter during the attack.
Under the TM42 are four hearts, representing Myre and his three fallen schoolmates, Hana St. Juliana, Madisyn Baldwin and Justin Shilling.
Tuesday’s shooting by a 15-year-old sophomore student killed four and injured seven others, including a teacher. The perpetrator is now charged with murder, as well as terrorism, as an adult and faces life in prison.
Oxford High School is 90 minutes away from the Michigan campus.
The Wolverines face the Iowa Hawkeyes for the Big Ten title on Saturday in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Michigan turning a corner
After finally defeating Ohio State, it feels like Jim Harbaugh and Michigan have entered a new era. One person who agrees with that sentiment is FOX’s Bruce Feldman.
Joining The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Feldman detailed how he believes Michigan football has turned a corner.

Oregon coach getting NFL buzz
“This felt to me a lot like Stanford 2.0 Jim Harbaugh,” stated Feldman. “It was the more physical team. Hassan Haskins was a punishing runner who just kept moving the ball down the field. .. He took a lot of what his buddy Joe Moorhead had whipped Ohio State with when Oregon went in there and just had them on their heels. There was a lot of different stuff that they couldn’t handle.
“I don’t want to say they weren’t prepared for it, but they couldn’t handle it.”
Moreover, Feldman relished in the way the Wolverines defense dominated the game.
“The other thing that was big — Aidan Hutchinson, David Ojabo, those guys got after Ohio State,” stated Feldman. “Aidan Hutchinson looks like he could be a legit top-five pick. He was dominant.
“It’s been a long time in this rivalry since Michigan had the best defensive player in this game. There was no question they had that.”
Aidan Hutchinson destroyed Ryan Day’s game-plan on Saturday. While he’s NFL Draft bound, the Wolverines defense can build on their performance for the future.
