Michigan transfer wide receiver Tyler Morris committed to the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. He announced the move on his Twitter page. This season, he hauled in 23 catches for 248 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Morris was with the Hoosiers for three seasons. All in all, he’s amassed 39 career catches, 470 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Tyler Morris played high school football at Plainfield East (IL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 157 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

As a recruit, Morris caught the attention of many big-brand schools, from Notre Dame to Penn State. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s still some interest there, or if he’s headed to an unexpected team after spending some time in the transfer portal. Regardless, he’ll be hoping to make a larger impact, wherever he ends up.

The Indiana Hoosiers finished with an 11-2 overall record. They also finished with an 8-1 overall record in the Big Ten Conference. Indiana starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke is off to give it a shot in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Canadian native recently revealed that he’d played much of the 2024 season on a torn ACL. He managed to play through the injury and guide the Hoosiers to a College Football Playoff appearance and one of the best seasons in school history.

He received a bevy of Heisman votes, and while it didn’t end the way the Hoosiers wanted it to, with a loss to Notre Dame in the First Round of the CFP, it was still a landmark campaign for the program. Now, he’ll undergo surgery to fix any issues remaining with his knee.

The fact that Rourke spent the entire season with the injury and never used it as an excuse once, having his best season as a college football player against some of the best competition in the nation, is more than impressive. Without his play, Indiana’s incredible resurgence wouldn’t have been possible.

All told, Rourke passed for 3,042 yards, 29 touchdowns and five interceptions while adding two rushing touchdowns to his resume, as well. It was his first season in Bloomington after spending five with the Ohio Bobcats, and he proved he could get the job done in the Big Ten in 2024.
