Michigan WR Roman Wilson makes eye-popping catch to score first against Nebraska
The Michigan Wolverines are on the road this Saturday looking to pick up win number 5 of the season against Big Ten rival, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. And if they keep making plays, like wide receiver Roman Wilson‘s eye-popping touchdown catch, the Wolverines are well on their way to a 5-0 start to 2023.
Wilson’s spectacular catch over two defenders in the back of the endzone will be one of the highlights of the year for Michigan. And if any fans missed it, they can check it out in the video below.
This pitch and catch between Wilson and quarterback JJ McCarthy has given Michigan the early 7-0 over Nebraska.
When it was all said and done, Michigan earned a 45-7 blowout victory on the road. McCarthy, Wilson, and the rest of the Wolverines’ offense wasn’t needed for all four quarters, which allowed for some of the incoming talent to take the field and get some quality reps in. Wilson didn’t put up gaudy numbers as he hauled in for catches for 58 yards. However, two of those catches were house calls, including this one to open the game.
McCarthy brings girlfriend to sideline amid Michigan’s blowout of Nebraska
McCarthy and the Michigan offense left no room for doubt Saturday against Nebraska. The Wolverines scored 35 points through less than three quarters of play, which led Jim Harbaugh to pull McCarthy and put Jack Tuttle into the game.

In fact, the game got so out of hand that McCarthy called his girlfriend down to the sideline.
FOX cameras captured the Michigan quarterback and his other half during the game, which the Wolverines eventually took a 38-0 lead. McCarthy continued his impressive season with his showing against Nebraska despite playing less than three full quarters.
McCarthy completed 12 of 16 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the air while adding two carries for 30 yards on the ground, including a 21-yard rushing score. He entered the game with a Big Ten-leading 79.8% completion percentage, and he’ll stay in that spot after his performance against Nebraska.
Tuttle then left the game in favor of Jayden Denegal, who found Peyton O’Leary for an eight-yard touchdown to extend Michigan’s advantage to 42-0. Nebraska then got its first touchdown of the day on a huge, 74-yard run from Josh Fleeks to avoid the shutout.
