Michigan was without head coach Jim Harbaugh and star offensive lineman Zak Zinter as the final seconds ticked off the clock in Saturday’s win over Ohio State.

But those two were on the minds of Wolverines coaches and players as they earned a hard-fought win over the Buckeyes Saturday afternoon.

Michigan acting head coach Sherron Moore spoke with Fox after the game about finishing off the win and what it meant to him.

“I mean look at it. This is what it is. Michigan University we love you. The fans, the players. Man, this is all about the players. Coach Harbaugh, we got your back, baby. We love you. That was for you, baby,” Moore said.

Michigan held off Ohio State for a 30-24 victory as Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord was picked off in the final seconds to seal the win for Michigan. The Wolverines now advance to the Big Ten title game and are in a great position to reach the College Football Playoff.

“It’s all the players. They just played their hearts out,” Moore said. “I mean look at this. This is what it’s all about. We’re just happy to be here and blessed. Coach, can’t wait to get you back. Just super excited.”

Michigan was without All-American offensive lineman Zak Zinter late after he had to be carted off the field with a leg injury.

Zinter suffered a nasty injury late in the third quarter. It was tough for star running back Blake Corum to see Zinter go down, but he wanted to ensure that the Wolverines still found a way to win for him.

“That’s one of the guys that came back as well. So when I scored I put up the 6 5 for him. We said we were going to do it for him and we did it. Zak, get well. I know you’ll be back stronger than ever,” Corum said.

It’s unlikely Zinter returns this season, but Michigan will continue to play on without him as it attempts to win a national title.

“My guys, we all came back for each other. We did it today. This is what we came back for, games like this, in the Big House, when your back’s against the wall and people think you can’t do it,” Corum said. “People are calling you all types of names. But we stayed strong and stayed together as one and came out victorious.

“It’s Michigan vs. Everybody. You’re either with us or against us. But the job’s not finished. We’ve got a lot of work. On to next week.”

Finally, Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy spoke about the win and what it meant to him. McCarthy made sure to give credit to the Buckeyes for playing a tough, hard-fought game.

“I just love my guys so much. That’s the thing about this team. We love each other. We play for each other. And it’s a special, special group,” McCarthy said.

“I felt amazing physically, mentally, spiritually. Just so happy to get it done with the boys. It’s nothing better. So much respect to Ohio State. They’re a great group of guys. Great team. They played their hearts out.”
