Michigan wide receiver and cornerback Amorion Walker plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Walker has spent three seasons at Michigan.

Walker appeared in four games with one start at wide receiver in the 2024 campaign. He finished the season with three passes for 34 yards.

Walker transferred to Ole Miss before the season but ultimately re-entered the portal and transferred back to Michigan. In his first two seasons with the Wolverines, Walker amassed 11 appearances. He has three total tackles and four catches throughout his career.

Despite Walker’s initial decision to leave the program after the 2023 season, he claims he never had any disdain for Michigan. Ahead of the 2024 campaign, Walker reflected on his unusual offseason.

“I wouldn’t say it was a specific moment,” Walker said when asked why he decided to return to Michigan. “Even when I left, it was constant check-in with those guys. And they always uplifted me and made sure I was good and just trying to put myself in the best position. Those were the guys I wanted to be around.”

Amorion Walker played high school football at Ponchatoula (LA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 466 overall player and No. 76 wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Walker will be the 25th Michigan player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. To soften the blow of its losses, Michigan has added 14 players via the transfer portal this offseason thus far.

The Wolverines’ incoming transfer class is highlighted by running back Justice Haynes. At Alabama last season, Haynes recorded 49 carries for 448 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He was the No. 3 running back in the transfer portal at the time of his commitment to Michigan.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore is hungry to take a step forward in his second season at the helm. Last season, he led the Wolverines to an 8-5 overall record and a 5-4 mark in conference play. Michigan will kick off the 2025 campaign with a showdown against New Mexico on Aug. 30.
