Paul Finebaum has gone from Jim Harbaugh hater to Michigan truther over the last two seasons.

Following the Wolverines’ second straight victory over Ohio State, Finebaum gave Harbaugh his flowers.

“This is one of the greatest, if not the greatest transformation in college football history,” stated Finebaum via Get Up on ESPN. “Two years ago, he was this close to getting fired. They slashed his contract, he survived because of COVID, and what does he do? He runs the table two straight years in the regular season, he’s in the Playoff two straight years and he absolutely owns his rival two straight years.

“Suddenly, Jim Harbaugh is no longer on the hot seat, and some people are pointing the finger at Ryan Day at Ohio State. That’s how great this has been for him.”

Alas, Jim Harbaugh has Michigan lightyears ahead of where he found the program when he returned after leaving the NFL. The Wolverines are once again one of the greats in the sport, and that’s largely because of Harbaugh’s coaching ability.

Even Paul Finebaum can recognize that, and the SEC Network analyst is more than happy to be proven wrong about Jim Harbaugh and Michigan.

Former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit praises Michigan for winning The Game

After Michigan picked up back-to-back wins in The Game against Ohio State for the first time since the year 2000 — and by a lopsided margin for the second-straight year — former Buckeyes quarterback and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit praised the Wolverines for the win.

A professional necessity, yes, but surely not what the former Ohio State quarterback had in mind for a postgame tweet when he got up this morning.

And Michigan not only won, but left Columbus with a 45-23 victory as emphatic as last years beating. Thus, Herbstreit had praise for Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh on top of the team itself.

“Congratulations to [Michigan] on a great win today,” Herbstreit tweeted. “Jim Harbaugh, his staff, and obviously his players were locked in and on a mission to win today in Columbus — and they did it. On to Indy and more than likely a [College Football Playoff] appearance again-Impressive! Congrats!”

With the win, Michigan advances to the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis next Saturday where it will face Purdue in a contest that the Wolverines will likely be large favorites in.
