Paul Finebaum: Michigan's Santa Ono is a 'total clown,' Wolverines fans 'tone-deaf' for Jim Harbaugh support
Michigan fans and even school president Santa Ono have continued to support Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, despite the program dealing with a major sign-stealing scandal.
SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum joined On3’s Tim May recently and shared that he believes doing so is a very bad look. Finebaum started off with his thoughts on Ono and didn’t hold back.
“Santa Ono is a complete and total clown. I mean he ought to go to the game with a clown nose, because I’ve rarely ever seen a college educator… he acted like a blithering idiot,” Finebaum said. “And that’s what happens when you go all in on Jim Harbaugh.”
Michigan AD Warde Manuel has continued to support Harbaugh, too, but he hasn’t been nearly as outspoken as Ono.
“I respect Warde Manuel more, because I didn’t really hear a whole lot from him, because he knows what he has in Jim Harbaugh, and I think that’s probably why he regrets not getting rid of him a couple of years ago,” Finebaum said.

Finebaum then offered his thoughts on the Wolverines fanbase and once again didn’t mince words.
“I don’t want to open up another scab with Michigan fans, but I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again here, I’ve never seen a more creepier, tone deaf group of fans in my life,” Finebaum said.
“I mean just some of the stuff that they said. And there are a lot of people that are completely embarrassed. Humiliated, I might add. People in our industry who went all in on Michigan. We now are starting to see the truth. We don’t even know the whole truth. But one of our colleagues Tweeted when Michigan backed out of the TRO hearing – ‘It’s a win, win.’ In what universe is that a win, win? I mean that was a total, complete and utter failure by the University of Michigan. And we are literally at the tip of the iceberg here.”
It will be interesting to see what comes next in the Michigan sign-stealing scandal. First things first, though, the Wolverines have a huge game on Saturday against Ohio State.
The winner of the rivalry game will take a big step towards clinching a spot in the College Football Playoff and will be the heavy favorite to win the Big Ten. Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sideline for the game, which kicks off at Noon in Ann Arbor.
