Report: Critical update comes in on Jim Harbaugh's future at Michigan

According to a report from The Athletics’ Bruce Feldman, current Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh would accept the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching job, if offered.
Harbaugh is coming off one of the best seasons in modern Michigan football history. Not only did the Wolverines take down bitter rival Ohio State for the first time in 17 years, they also made their first appearance in the College Football Playoffs before falling to the eventual national champion Georgia Bulldogs 34-11.
Harbaugh, 58, came to Michigan in 2015 after a four-season stint with the San Francisco 49ers that saw him battle his brother, John, in Super Bowl XLVII where the Baltimore Ravens went on to win 34-31 in a game now infamously known as the “Blackout Bowl”
During the offseason, the Wolverines extended Harbaugh through the 2025 season but cut his pay in half. Harbaugh’s base salary for 2021 dropped to $4 million — he had been paid over $8 million in 2020.
Harbaugh was afforded an extra $1.5 million thanks to winning the Big Ten championship, making the College Football Playoffs and for winning the Big Ten East Division.
After the Ohio State win, Harbaugh announced that all bonus money from those contract incentives would go toward employees at Michigan athletic who had their pay affected by the pandemic.

While Michigan had a season to remember, the Las Vegas Raiders, while going 10-7 in the regular season and making the playoffs, their season was surrounded by controversy.
The New York Times detailed in a report Monday that Jon Gruden made more offensive comments than those initially revealed in his emails, including the use of homophobic slurs. Gruden has been the subject of criticism since an email he sent in 2011 was revealed in which he used a racially charged remark when discussing DeMaurice Smith of the NFLPA.
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden later informed his staff he planned to resign as the Raiders head coach, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Gruden’s resignation came after uncovered emails showed the Raiders head coach used racist, misogynistic and homophobic language.
The Raiders will look to quickly move on and continue the success they had this season. A rebuild, in Las Vegas’ eyes, is not in the cards and they’re looking for the best of the best. Is Harbaugh that?
