Michigan will see its season roll on, with a College Football Playoff game against TCU coming live from Arizona on New Year’s Eve. Sadly, running back Blake Corum will not step onto the field to help the Wolverines get a first CFP win and is out for the season with a knee injury.

Corum has a decision looming with his year over. He has the opportunity to forgo his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft or he could return to Ann Arbor. Nothing has been finalized yet but Corum is split down the middle on what to do.

“I’m 50-50,” Corum said during a recent appearance on The Adam Schefter Podcast. “I have not made a decision. It’s a hard decision and like I said, I got to think about what’s best for Blake Corum.”

In fact, the NFL is not at the top of the running back’s mind at the moment. Getting back to full health takes top priority so he can be ready to go for whatever is next.

“A lot has been happening recently with the injury,” Corum. “I’ve thought about it a little bit but right now, I’m just trying to figure some things out, get my knee right.”

If there was no knee injury hampering Corum, he would have been one of the top backs selected this upcoming April. He still might be as the rehab process continues. Corum could have been a Heisman Trophy finalist in New York City as well but was not able to finish out the year.

In 12 games played this season, Corum rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns. While he did attempt to play against Ohio State, it was obvious the knee injury was going to prevent Corum from being his normal self.

There’s a chance that’s the last time we will ever see him in a Michigan uniform but Corum is seemingly keeping his options open. A few things will need to be figured out before the mid-January deadline.

“I have a couple weeks before I have to decide on what’s best for me and what I should do,” Corum said. “Going to try to put some puzzle pieces together and see what’s best.”
