Sherrone Moore shares how Ohio State win changes outlook of 2024 season

Michigan shocked No. 2 Ohio State in Week 14, defeating the Buckeyes 13-10 and keeping bragging rights in The Game for the fourth consecutive year.
While the Wolverines are ultimately going to finish the season short of defending their reigning national championship, there’s no better way Michigan could have ended its regular season. Good or bad, however, head coach Sherrone Moore isn’t listening to the outside noise.
“We don’t really care what other people think,” Moore said after the win. “It’s about what our players in the building think and what everybody around us think. We’re just happy we beat Ohio State. That was the most important thing today, and that’s what we’re riding with.”
Michigan finishes the regular season with a 7-5 record — the worst since the year before Jim Harbaugh took over (not including the abbreviated COVID-riddled 2020 season). Still, Michigan had wins over a ranked USC team and played another College Football Playoff team in Indiana close, losing 20-15 on the road.
While the win didn’t push the Wolverines into the CFP like it had in previous seasons, it does end the season with a positive taste in fans mouth. Fans can go into the offseason knowing that Moore is 1-0 against Ohio State. After all, Harbaugh lost his first five matchups against the Buckeyes.

However, Michigan has since found its rhythm against Ohio State and the success carried over to the new coaching staff. Moore explained the main factor was that willed his team over the Buckeyes despite being a massive underdog in the contest.
“I think just our mindset of how we attack it,” Moore continued. “We started really in 21 with Coach Harbaugh, putting it all over the building. It’s a constant thought process. How we practice, what we do, when we practice, thinking about this game, how we build our team, what we do. It will continue to be that way.
“We’re going to continue to build this team, the foundation of who we are, this culture around winning this game, and that’s what it’s got to be about.”
